EMFISIS Events - Logs of on-orbit EMFISIS commanding events in XLS format

Waveform Bursts

This events list periods where there are 6 channel waveform captures available, including standard survey waveform capture, burst capture (~0.5 sec), and continuous waveform capture (~6.0sec)

Eclipse

This events list all the periods where the spacecraft is in eclipse.  During these periods the EFW spheres are not biased.  The electric field waveforms in general should be okay, but this period is noted and these data should be used with extreme caution.  Elcipse does not effect the Fluxgate magnetometer nor the Magnetic Search Coil.

Spacecraft Charging Events

This events list all the periods where the spacecraft charges up.  These periods are derived from EFW data where spacecraft potential is significantly positive (>5 V) or one or more of the probes is in saturation .  The electric field waveforms in general can be okay, but this period is noted and these data should definately be used with caution.  Space craft charging does not effect the Fluxgate magnetometer nor the Magnetic Search Coil.

Spacecraft Maneuver Periods

This events list all the periods where the spacecraft is performing a maneuver.  During these periods, both the electric and magnetic field's are corrupted.  This is strongly evident in the MSC, but is minimal in the fluxgate magnetometer.   All EMFISIS Data during these periods should be highly suspect and it is not recomended for scientific use.
